Mount Lodge is located in the coastal town of Mount Lavinia, south of Colombo and is situated just a few minutes walk from the beach, restaurants and local shops. Designed by one of Sri Lanka's leading architects, Mount Lodge is a fine example of the inspirational use of space and light. Built on a small plot of land, you would never imagine the property could be so spacious inside. It is also stylish and chic. Mount Lodge can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people - the rooms are located on three levels giving you the feel of space and privacy. There are a number of pretty indoor gardens and courtyards that open to the skies, with potted plants and there's even a Mango Tree reaching up to the third level. The Mango Tree came first, and then the house ! Mount Lodge is located within a short walking distance of the very charming Mount Lavinia Hotel - a beautiful colonial hotel overlooking the Indian Ocean. As Mount Lodge does not come with a pool, guests can use the pool at Mount Lavinia hotel (paid locally). Mount Lavinia hotel offers good evening entertainment (live music on some nights) and the food is very good too. So if you fancy eating out, try the Mount Lavinia Hotel. Be warned, the hotel does get quite busy. This property is perfectly located for those wishing to be close to Colombo (approx. 1 hr drive during peak hours). Mount Lodge can be rented as one property (max 8 people) or individual rooms may be rented for smaller parties.

There are 3 large double bedrooms and 1 suite in total. All rooms are simply furnished and come with a writing desk & chair, reading lamps, air conditioning, Broadband Internet access, IDD telephone access and a Satelite TV. White washed walls and crisp white bedding completes these rooms. The First Level [ 2 people ] - A double room with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. Guests also have use of a private courtyard where the Mango Tree majestically sits. This room leads into an open-air indoor garden, the main sitting room and the dining room. The Second Level [4 people ] - Two-twin-bedded rooms each with its own bathroom, outdoor courtyard, and separate entrance. There is also a large sitting area for entertaining. The two rooms are ideal for a family or friends travelling together (4 people) enabling you to have your own space for relaxing, reading a book, playing games or simply watching TV. The Third Level [ 2 people ] - Known as the "Mount Suite", offers a lovely king-size 4-poster bed and a pretty private courtyard garden off the bedroom. There is a huge bathroom with indoor palms and plenty of light to almost trick you into thinking that you are outside! There is a large private sitting room with another outdoor courtyard! Mount Suite is perfect for honeymooners looking for a private retreat.

There is a very pretty sitting room and dining room on the first level. With a small outdoor garden on one side filled with tropical plants, and a small indoor garden on the other side with a lovely palm as the centrepiece, the living area is a tranquil place to be. You would never imagine you are in Colombo! The artworks around the rooms are painted by local Sri Lankan artists. The mood and ambience these works invoke has to be experienced. There are cream sofas to sink into and a breeze to cool you down. Sit back and enjoy a glass of freshly made fruit juice and recount the day's events. A large dining table facing the small outdoor garden comfortably seats 8 people. |

Mount Lodge does not come with a cook. The caretakers, who speak fluent English live on the premises and will take care of all your needs. Breakfast is included in the rate and you have a choice of English or Sri Lankan. Guests can use the kitchen (located off the dining room) for making teas and coffees etc. As there are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the local area, guests can venture out to try out the local cuisine. However, a safe bet would be to dine at the nearby Mount Lavinia hotel. The villa will be cleaned daily and the linen and towels changed every other day.

The deposit can be paid via our secure server or via bank transfer. Customers must pay all bank charges in the case of a bank transfer. The balance is to be paid directly to Mount Lodge on departure.
