Situated in a tranquil riverside setting, Riverside Villa is a beautiful and elegant colonial style house within a five-minute walk to the local village of Dharga town, and only ten minutes away from the famous Brief Gardens. The house has been delightfully furnished with a European flair, incorporating local furniture and craftsmanship. The beautifully maintained garden facing the river makes this villa a perfect hideaway. Guests have full use of the swimming pool and the Health Spa (at additional cost, paid locally) situated at the adjoining property, Riverside Retreat. The newly built Health Spa also comes with an Ayurveda Doctor, in daily attendance. Please note, if Riverside Retreat and its other properties are in occupation, you will be sharing these facilities with other guests. A large group (up to 10 people) could rent both villas for exclusive use. This would be ideal for two or three families holidaying together.

There are 3 bedrooms (2 double and 1 twin) all located on the first floor. Twin room has A/c and fan. Bedrooms 2 and 3 have adjoining doors and are ideal for a family with 2 children. All bedrooms share a large bathroom with a corner bath and shower. Hot water is supplied by solar power. There is also a shower in the garden should you need cooling down after a lazy morning soaking up the sun.

There is a large open plan living area, with tiled flooring to instantly cool your feet. The dining area offers seating for 8 people. Guests have the use of a TV (with Sky), Video and a C.D. Upstairs there is even a private bar area! Within the study, fax/telephone (direct dial) and computer Internet service available if required. Step outside and you can relax on the verandah with breathtaking views of the river. Perhaps watch the sun go down over a cool glass of wine, and think of the lazy days ahead of you. Or why not enjoy your morning cup of tea at the gazebo listening to the birds and watching the boats pass you by. What more could you ask of a relaxing holiday? |

There is a fully equipped modern kitchen with all appliances including an American Fridge-Freezer with an ice dispenser. The villa comes with a resident housekeeper/cook and a gardener/handyman. The housekeeper, Demi speaks English and can make excellent European dishes as well as great Sri Lankan curries. With experience of working in the Middle East, Demi is an accomplished housekeeper & cook and will ensure you are taken care of. Beds are made daily and the linen changed every other day. Towels are also provided, though guests will need to bring their own pool towels. A laundry service is available (at additional cost, paid locally). As Meals are not included in the price, guests should discuss meal requirements with Demi. You will need to purchase all ingredients. This can be done by either going to a local supermarket yourself or by providing Demi with some cash and she will do it for you. Demi will keep a detailed account of the expenditure. Lastly, the villa's car and driver is available for guest use (at additional cost, paid locally).
