The Ambassador's was once the elegant home of the representative of Bangladesh - hence the name - before the current owner took over a few years ago.

Extensive renovations resulted in the opening up of ancient archways bringing light and air flooding in. The house is now an elegant and stylish home capturing the essence of what makes a tropical house comfortable.

A small garden at the front with temple trees flows under a twin set of columns leading into a large sitting room with comfortable sofas and antiques. Leading from this room through archways into a small grass courtyard where the resident rabbits hop about and a small table invites for shaded breakfast.

The formal dining room adjoining the kitchen comes next and a staircase leads up to the master suite and twin room. These rooms have a private access to the roof terrace overlooking the rooftops of the Fort. The three other double bedrooms are downstairs overlooking the pool. Another small garden at the end of the house has a stairway leading up to the roof terrace.

A cook and steward are the main staff and are joined by 2 room girls who come daily. There is a modern kitchen that adjoins the dining room. The villa is offered on an accommodation only basis; therefore all meals are for your account and can be arranged with the cook.

Low Season (May - 31 Oct): $ 400 (£227) per night

Medium Season (August): $ 450 (£256) per night

High Season (01 Nov - 21 Dec & 7 Jan - 30 Apr): $ 500 (£284) per night

Peak Season (22 Dec - 6 Jan): $600 (£340) per night

Payment Policy

A 15% deposit is payable to secure the booking. The deposit can be paid via our secure server or via bank transfer. Customers must pay all bank charges in the case of a bank transfer.

A further 35% is payable 7 days after your confirmation. This should be paid direct to Dalip House managing agents by bank transfer to Sri Lanka account. The final 50% balance is to be paid one month prior to arrival at the Villa.

The final 50% balance is to be paid 1 month prior to arrival.

Cancellation Policy

The initial 15% deposit is non refundable.

The balance payments will only be refunded less US$100 cancellation fee and any bank charges incurred by us in refunding your money providing we are able to "re-let" the villa.
