Located 9km from historic Galle, sits Kahanda Kanda (Yellow Moon Mountain) a 10 acre tea estate perched high above Koggala Lake.
A spectacular creation by the owner, a leading English interior designer, and the architect, a well-known Australian responsible for many highly acclaimed private houses in SL. Together they have created a new meaning for 'ethnic luxury and style'!
The views alone are stunning! Look on to Koggala Lake, the tea estate and the jungle beyond. There are very few private homes in Sri Lanka that match Kahanda Kanda.
The bedroom suites are located away from the main living areas in stand-alone pavilions. Each pavilion features polished cement flooring and exposed timber ceilings with tiled roof.
There are large lily ponds either side of the sitting pavilion and a floating stepping-stone path provides access to the dining pavilion.
Kahanda Kanda is a working tea estate and is well managed undergoing a revival employing 9 workers. True to tradition the men carry out the heavy work whilst the women are responsible for the delicate task of picking the leaves. Join them if you wish, Mahenda (Estate Manager) will be delighted to show you around, or simply lie back and watch others at work. Kahanda Kanda is an oasis of style set within a Garden of Eden that enables you to live the life of rural Sri Lanka.
Enjoy the experience. Perfect for a large group or for families holidaying together.
Alternatively, you can rent by the suite.
SPECIAL PROMOTION ** YOGA WEEKEND 25th / 27th June 2010**
Enjoy a luxury weekend yoga retreat - the perfect place for a weekend of health, peace and general well-being.
Yoga classes will be conducted by Australian Sam Whybrow. Sam teaches a Vinyasa flow style practice, an energetic form of yoga that emphasizes linking movement and breath, with a dance-like fluidity that connects the asanas. At the core of all classes, there will be an effort to cultivate a deeper awareness of the transformations taking place on your yoga mat, and then finding a way to translate them into your daily life. Expect to find ways to incorporate yoga into everyday tasks such as washing dishes, cooking, reading a book, driving your car, or sitting at your desk. Sam's secret aim is to help you find a way to 'live' your yoga, not just do it.
Weekend starts Friday 25th June, and finishes after the afternoon session of yoga on Sunday 27th.
Prices start from 25,000/- rps per person.
Price includes: 2 nights accommodation, all meals (excluding beverages), 4 yoga lessons and government taxes and service charge.
