Located approximately 1 hours drive from Bandaranayake International Airport (and 45mins from the town of Negombo), Horathapola is the ideal rest (after a long haul flight) for those planning to visit the Cultural Triangle or the Hill Country. Horathapola, a working coconut plantation of 10 acres, is the ancestral home of the owners, the Fernando family and dates back to the early 1900's. Though the drive is rather bumpy from the airport, the scenery is lovely and you will get your first glimpse of rural Sri Lanka. Arrive at Horathpola and you immediately start to unwind. The serene surroundings, the gentle swaying of the coconut trees and the sweet scent of the frangipani flowers are very welcoming. There is an air of calmness at Horathapola, another world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. A lovely 50 ft crystal blue pool with a waterfall feature is available for guest use. Horathpola welcomes families with children.

All bedrooms have ensuite facilities and have access to a private sitting area or a verandah. All rooms with antique four-poster beds, rustic oak floorboards, mosquito nets over the beds and fans overhead. There are some family rooms perfect for families with young children.

Most bedrooms have access to private balconies or verandahs where you can read a book or simply doze for a few minutes. There is also a central living area used by all guests. Filled with antiques, old paintings and family portraits, the living room, the library and the long corridors are galleries inviting you to meander and admire a Sri Lankan family home. The pool area also provides plenty of seating as well as the large gardens around the property. The large dining table can be set for your meals or you may choose to dine outside. |

The villa is fully staffed. The kitchen staff prepares all meals - local Sri Lankan cuisine or western dishes. The price includes Breakfast & Dinner and you may select your meals from a daily menu. Lunch is also available paid locally. Afternoon Tea is served in the gardens.

Pricing The following rates are displayed in US Dollars and are for the room per night on a HALF BOARD basis (Breakfast & Dinner). The deposit can be paid via our secure server or via bank transfer. Customers must pay all bank charges in the case of a bank transfer. The Balance is due within 2 weeks of confirmation payable directly to Horathapola owners by bank transfer to Sri Lanka account. Details to be given once booking is confirmed. Cancellation Policy The 20% deposit is non refundable. The balance payments will only be refunded less US$100 cancellation fee and any bank charges incurred by us in refunding your money providing we are able to "re-let" the property. |
